Featured Speaker Tori Hunt
Our featured speaker for the evening is Tori Hunt, youth engagement coordinator with EarthEcho International, a project of Philippe Cousteau, grandson of famed explorer Jacques Cousteau. A member of the Lumbee Tribe, Tori is a former high school teacher in Cabarrus County, was a Fellow for Ocean Exploration Trust’s 2023 expedition season and sailed the Pacific as a crew member aboard E/V Nautilus. During this voyage, they utilized seafloor mapping and remotely operated vehicles to explore unseen deep-sea habitats in Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument, the largest marine protected area in the United States.
We will also hear from Brunswick County Schools Career Ready Coordinator Dr. Daniel Richardson and present the 2024 Coastal Caretaker Award.
The evening’s meal will begin with a Signature Cocktail. The menu will include salad, a selection of Prime Rib, Mahi Mahi and Chicken Picata, dessert and dinner wine.
