Festival of Trees

HOLIDAY NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM

The Ocean Isle Museum Foundation, Inc. would like to thank the approximately 250 visitors who supported the Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium by attending Holiday Night at the Museum on November 29. Guests enjoyed food from the Dawg Wagon, Makai beer, wine, soft drinks, and live music from the bank Opportunity Rocks as they strolled through the museum galleries admiring and bidding on the beautiful trees decorated by local nonprofit organizations.

FESTIVAL OF TREES – NOV. 21 to DEC. 14

The Museum of Coastal Carolina in Ocean Isle Beach is hosting a Festival of Trees. The trees are displayed throughout the museum’s galleries from November 21 (soft opening) through December 14, 2019. The Grand Opening of the Festival of Trees occurred on Holiday Night at the Museum on November 29 – a special event that included holiday elves, Santa Shark, a tree for children to decorate, holiday stories for children, food from the Dawg Wagon, Makai beer, wine, soft drinks, and live music provided by Opportunity Rocks.

For the Festival of Trees, artificial trees provided by the museum have been sponsored and decorated by local nonprofit organizations. Decorated trees can be bid on; each tree sponsor will receive in full the highest bid amount on its tree. Winners will get a decorated tree to take home. Each tree includes decorations, tree skirt, tree topper, and LED lights.

The following organizations are this year’s tree sponsors: Brunswick County Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Association, Brunswick County Literacy Council, Brunswick Environmental Action Team, Intracoastal Model Railroad Club, Ocean Isle Beach Sea Turtle Protection Organization, Ocean Isle Habitat Re-Store, Ocean Isle Property Owners Association, Ocean Ridge Charities Organization, Paws-Ability, South Brunswick Islands Rotary Club, and With My Sisters.

Museum members and visitors to the museum during the Festival of Trees will receive a voting ballot to use to vote for their favorite tree. Additional voting ballots may be purchased in the museum’s gift shop: 1 vote for $1; 6 votes for $5; 12 votes for $10.

The Festival of Trees will be open to the public during the Museum’s seasonal operating hours – Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10:00-3:00 with extended hours on November 30, December 7, and December 14 from 10:00-5:00. Museum admission is free for members. Non-member admission is $9.50 for adults, $8.50 for seniors, $7.50 for children (3-12), and free for age 2 and under.
