All laser music shows are performed live by our team of planetarium facilitators. They are an out of this world adventure you are not soon to forget!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Laser Shows?

Laser shows are like going to a concert but without the band! We fuse popular music, real-time laser artwork, immersive 360-degree lighting, and projector effects to bring your favorite music to life like you have never seen it before.

Are Laser Shows outside?

No, our laser shows take place inside the comfort of the Ingram Planetarium’s 360 degree theater. Rain or shine, we can light our lasers!

Are Laser Shows suitable for children?

This depends on the show and your child. Laser shows feature loud music and flashing lights in the dark environment of the Planetarium that may be scary or over stimulating for young children. Some shows feature music, lyrics, and visual themes intended for an adult audience and may include profanity. We do not prohibit children, but viewer discretion is advised.

I am sensative to flashing lights or rapid movement, should I see a Laser Show?

Laser shows feature flashing lights and loud music as well as rapidly moving graphics at times. We do not recommend laser shows if you are sensitive to things or have a medical condition that can be exacerbated by them.

In accordance with NC state mandate, we are now allowed 100% capacity in our planetarium theater. If you prefer, you may still call 910-575-0033 on  the day of  your visit to reserve your seats over the phone.
Mask Policy
Effective February 24, 2022: In accordance with the latest CDC guidance and Gov. Cooper’s recommendation, fully vaccinated visitors are not required to wear a mask or face covering. For the safety of our staff and guests, face coverings are still recommended for unvaccinated visitors.
