Boy scouts and Girl scouts are invited to complete partial badge requirements based on exhibits and activities in the museum. Scouts will receive a reduced entry rate of $6 per scout and must wear their uniform or troop number to obtain reduced entry. Scouts will receive a packet explaining relevant exhibits and activities and how they meet corresponding badge requirements. Exhibits will be marked with a scout insignia for further guidance.
This program has been designed by Keith Eades and Jamie Justice. Keith is a life-long science educator and school administrator. He also serves as Education Outreach Coordinator for the Ocean Isle Museum Foundation. He is a former science teacher, principal and Superintendent. Keith is a science educator who enjoys sharing a variety of lessons related to STEM education. Jamie is the Education Coordinator for the Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium. She received her Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from Bowling Green State University and her Master of Science in Environmental Science with concentrations in Marine and Coastal Education and Coastal Management from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Jamie is originally from Portsmouth, Ohio and moved to Wilmington, North Carolina for graduate school in 2017. Before coming to the Museum, she has worked in a variety of educational positions at summer camps and schools.
