The Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium join the America 250 celebration with a series of lectures, events and activities that focus on American history. The first of these events is the Sandbar Lecture Series offered at a new day and time this spring. Bring a bag lunch and join us at noon for a variety of topics in March, April and May.
This month, join the Ocean Isle Museum Foundation’s Director of Programs and Exhibits Jamie Justice for a look at “Fur Usage in America’s History.” Using pelts from a new exhibit, made possible by International Paper, we will will explore the different properties of animal furs and what made them sought after for uses such as clothing. Learn about what animal furs and skins were most sought after and how this has changed over time throughout America’s history.
