Just a few years ago, according to the Audubon Society, there were no bald eagle nests in the Wilmington/Brunswick County area. Today, sightings of this magnificent bird are up across the region and state. Established bald eagle nests have been seen in several areas of Brunswick County. Mary Ellen Rogers talks about bald eagles. She is the founder of the Sea Biscuit Wildlife Shelter in Oak Island. The Sea Biscuit Wildlife Shelter, on Oak Island, NC, gives sick and injured birds from all of the area islands the chance to both heal both to fly and find food again.
