Inspiring Women in STEM
Join members of the Ocean Isle Museum Foundation’s Star Society to celebrate Inspiring Women in STEM. The Foundation will present the Coastal Caretaker Award to Carmel Zetts, who has helped protect sea turtles in Sunset Beach for more than three decades.
We will also hear from Marine Biologist and Author Christine Figgener and her life with sea turtles. Christine, whose 2015 social media video illustrating the devastation as simple plastic straw can cause sea turtles, will also sign copies of her book “My Life with Sea Turtles.” Christine will also talk about the research she’s doing with sea turtles in Costa Rica.
A breakfast buffet will be provided. A copy of the copy of the book can also be ordered in advance.
