Event Cancelled: Family Day

April 11, 2020 @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm America/New York Timezone
Museum of Coastal Carolina
21 E 2nd St.

Spring is nearly here, which means Family Day at the Museum of Coastal Carolina is not far behind! The exciting family event will be 10 am – 2 pm Saturday, April 11, rain or shine. Dozens of events will take place outside (weather permitting) and inside the museum.

New this year will be a fascinating booth by Ingram Planetarium called Cloud Burst. Popular returning activities include measuring a shark’s tooth to estimate the animal’s size, a buried treasure hunt, sea life pond and sea globes. There will also be a coin toss and a special T-shirt craft for Earth Day’s 50th Anniversary.

Family Day is a great opportunity for kids to learn about local wildlife. Matthew Bookout will have some live snakes and reptiles, and representatives from the Ocean Isle Beach Sea Turtle Protection Organization will be available to answer questions.

Visitors can also talk with representatives from the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Animal Protective Services and Ocean Isle Beach Fire/Rescue and Police Departments. Admission to the museum on Family Day is free for Brunswick County residents with valid IDs. Special Family Day admission for non-residents is $3 per person.

Food at Family Day includes pizza from Papa John’s, a food truck specializing in kids’ menu and kettle corn. Museum volunteers will hold a bake sale, and those who ordered a Boston Butt from the museum can pick it up between 10 am and 2 pm on Family Day.

The Museum of Coastal Carolina is located at 21 East Second Street in Ocean Isle Beach. For more information, call 910-579-1016 or visit museumplanetarium.org. Free admission to Museum members and all year-round Brunswick County residents with valid ID. Special $3 per person admission for others.
