Take a deeper dive into our newest exhibit, Climate Action Heroes with family-friendly, fun, and interactive activities! Climate Action Heroes is developed by National Children’s Museum and distributed in partnership with Nickelodeon Our World.
Each week will feature hands-on self-guided science and craft activities exploring a different characteristic of a Climate Action Hero. Visitors can also look for evidence of Climate Action Heroes throughout the museum with a special scavenger hunt. October’s Climate Action Hero is the Community Captain!
This month, area Community Captain organizations Encounter NC, Ripley’s Aquarium, and the Children’s Museum of Wilmington will staff tables and provide activities for visitors to enjoy.
This week, two Community Captain organizations join us: Children’s Museum of Wilmington and Ripley’s Aquarium:
The Children’s Museum of Wilmington provides a welcoming and engaging environment that promotes hands-on art, science, and literacy-focused learning for all children and their caregivers, and they will provide a sea spider craft and fun facts about sea spiders.
Ripley’s Education Department delivers an educational experience that promotes the conservation and exploration of our natural environment through immersive learning and engaging programs.
Ripley’s will explore the strange and curious nature of sharks by presenting biofacts and activities including the mock dissection of a shark, an activity to highlight sharks ampullae of Lorenzini (discover what this is and why it’s important!), and a craft.
