Thanks to All Who Made Our Second Annual Beach Ball a Great Success
Successful fundraising events, like 2024’s 2nd Annual Beach Ball, require a dedicated team and generous community support. The event was held April 18 at Seabreeze Restaurant+ Bar at Bricklanding to raise funds to support the operations of the Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium. We are THANKFUL for our staff members, volunteers, donors, attendees, and others who made it all possible.
Only with community support can we achieve our mission to inspire curiosity about our unique coastal environment, history, and the broader natural universe through interactive, fun, science-based experiences!

“If children don’t grow up knowing about nature and appreciating it, they will not understand it. And if they don’t understand it, they won’t protect it. And if they don’t protect it, who will?” – EarthEcho International Youth Engagement Coordinator Tori Hunt, member of southeastern North Carolina’s Lumbee Tribe.
(L-R) Daniel Richardson, Brunswick County Schools; Award Winners Jim Boyce and Deb Boyce, Foundation Executive Director Jim Hoffman and Foundation Board Chair Bob Forrester.
Tori delivered the keynote address during the event. We are also grateful to Daniel Richardson, Brunswick County Schools Career Ready Coordinator, who shared how he was inspired in his career path by the Museum of Coastal Carolina.
Congratulations Jim and Deb Boyce, winners of the 2024 Louise Ingram Coastal Caretaker Award.
Finally, are THANKFUL for the faithful and generous support from ALL event attendees, including Town of Sunset Beach Town Councilmen Mike Hargreaves and Peter Larkin, Town of Ocean Isle Beach Mayor Debbie Smith and Commissioner Mark Holland, Town of Shallotte Mayor Walt Eckert, and NC Legislator the Honorable Frank Iler.
