Now on display in the Museum's Coastal Gallery: The Way We Were, a collection of beautiful oil paintings and prints of evocative scenes from this area's past by Shallotte artist V. Ryan ("Bunny") Lauzon. The artwork is on display through January 3, 2015.

Dec. 27 -- 11:00 -- Monsters of the Deep Blue Sea -- In this family-friendly program, museum educator Maria Knapik will discuss examples of rarely seen marine animals that live in the deepest ocean depths.
Jan. 3 -- 11:00 -- Tracks in the Sand -- Children will learn how to identify local animals by the tracks the animals leave in the sand. Fun for the entire family!
Jan. 9 -- 10:00-3:00 -- Grand Opening of the New Ocean Isle Ferry Exhibit
Jan. 10 -- 11:00 -- The Ocean Isle Ferry -- Our new working model of the Ocean Isle Ferry was built by Gerald Strickland. Mr. Strickland will be on hand by the exhibit between 11:00 and noon to discuss the operation of the ferry and answer your questions.
Jan. 13 -- 6 PM -- Discover Your Family History: Getting Started in Genealogy with Kyle Hughes -- This program is designed especially for beginners! Mr. Hughes will help you get started by exploring the basics of Genealogical research. Start your own family tree!

Jan. 10 -- 6 PM -- Early Flight: Those Wonderful Flying Machines with Bruce Stedman -- Mr. Stedman will discuss very early aircraft based on the work of Cayley, Penaud, Lilienthal, Chanute, and the Wright Brothers. He will also show you how to make two paper gliders that can fly up to 40 feet indoors!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Museum of Coastal Carolina, Ingram Planetarium, and The Children's Museum of Wilmington are pleased to announce a reciprocity agreement that takes effect on January 1, 2015.
By displaying a Museum or Planetarium membership card, a visitor can enjoy half-price admission to The Children's Museum of Wilmington.
By displaying a Children's Museum membership card, a visitor can enjoy half-price admission to the Museum and/or Planetarium.
Non-members can receive $1 off regular admission to any of the three facilities by displaying a cash register receipt from a previous visit to The Children's Museum, the Museum of Coastal Carolina, or Ingram Planetarium within the past seven days.
